An organization based in the city is looking to help young women of color navigate the barriers of daily life to become tomorrow’s leaders.
“Queens Academy works in partnership with schools and youth centers to educate, empower and develop minority girls,” said Amber Jones, who founded the organization in 2019.
The Cramer Hill Elementary School teacher who has a master’s degree in social work from Temple University said her aim is to have free programming available for girls in Kindergarten all the way through the eighth grade.
