We saw shocking new data from the state’s 30,505 active and full-time police officers last month: just over 10% are female and nearly 89% are male, according to a report analyzing personnel data on the demographics of law enforcement by the state Attorney General’s Office.
This is a poor commentary on diversifying agencies throughout the state and as police executives, we need to do more to recruit and promote women in policing.
