In Camden there’s an effort to build the city up by tearing down blighted homes. The initiative, called “Camden Strong,” is targeting about 300 unsafe buildings. It will start in the Cramer Hill neighborhood and move across the city.
Mayor Vic Carstarphen said the demolition is part of his larger 100-day plan to rebuild a healthier community. It also calls for cleaning up illegal dumping and encouraging more residents to get involved in keeping their neighborhoods clean.
