The city’s crime rate for 2021 finished almost even with the previous year, according to statistics that Camden County recently released.
Officials here describe the last year’s numbers as promising, a sign the city–county law enforcement partnership – begun in 2013 – continues to work. They also say local “community policing” strategies and de-escalation tactics continue to make the city safer for its residents and visitors.
Last year, Camden Metro Police logged 2,750 total crimes in the city, a 1% drop from 2020 when it reported 2,788 violent and non-violent incidents.
