Renovations Made Possible Through A Generous Grant From The Sixers Youth Foundation
CAMDEN, NJ – Camden Mayor Victor Carstarphen, Philadelphia 76ers COO Lara Price, Camden Community Co-Chair Mark McDonough, Camden County Commissioner Melinda Kane, Camden City Council President Angel Fuentes, Councilman Chris Collins, Sixers Ambassador World B. Free, Camden resident and former Eastside Highschool basketball standout Chanelle “Nelly” Perry, Sixers mascot Franklin, the Sixers Dance Team, and other invited guests came together to commemorate the official opening of the newly refurbished basketball court located in Farnham Park. Today’s ribbon cutting ceremony emphasizes Mayor Carstarphen’s continued effort to enhance the City’s parks system and create safe and healthy spaces for Camden families to enjoy.
“I am truly grateful to the Sixers Youth Foundation for their on-going commitment to enrich the lives of our residents,” said Camden Mayor Victor Carstarphen. “Our young children now have a wonderful basketball court they can be proud playing on. It is partnerships like this that show how working together, we can accomplish anything. We turned an idea into a concept, and this concept into a reality. This is what Camden Strong is all about.”
The basketball court improvements were made possible through a grant from the Sixers Youth Foundation, which features a new playing surface, new rims and nets, and newly painted lines and colors across the court, featuring a Sixers Youth Foundation logo. The contribution by the Sixers Youth Foundation is part of their ongoing commitment to the City of Camden, providing exceptional resources to the community through the power of basketball and inspiring future generations.
