Rod Sadler was known in Camden for a lot things: He often played Santa Claus for charity events, bringing smiles to countless children. He was the city's harbormaster for years, a business owner, teacher, activist and advocate for the city where he lived for decades.

Now, as plans for a new park on parcel near the Sadler home in North Camden take shape, he'll also be recalled as a man who fought to preserve Camden's open spaces and protect its waterways.
