NJ Transit's First Zero-Emission Bus Hits the Road In Camden

Ten years from now, every new bus purchased by NJ Transit must be a zero-emission vehicle, according to state law.

A big step toward that green goal was unveiled Tuesday at the Newton Avenue Bus Garage when the first battery electric bus was put into service.

The bus will be used for bus operator and first-responder training and, in coming weeks, will begin passenger service in Camden, according to the agency.
