Monsignor Michael Doyle Deeply Loved Camden, and Its People

When news spread on Friday that Monsignor Michael Doyle of Sacred Heart Church had died after a long illness, heartfelt words of tribute from political and religious leaders and others were quickly issued.

But the Irish-born priest who joined Sacred Heart in 1974, an orator whose Masses drew worshipers from all over the region to his church at Ferry Avenue and Broadway, probably was the greatest master of words himself.
