Camden Residents' Top Complaint, Streets, Get Some Attention

Baleeia Baker has lived in Camden for 32 years. Even after her husband, who was born and raised in the city, passed away from COVID-19, she wanted to keep her home in the city where they raised their two daughters.

"This is where I'm staying," she said Tuesday, and she feels a real sense of community on her Parkside block, a place where neighbors keep the street clean and make clear to anyone with bad intentions that "we don't do that here."

But Baker, like seemingly every other Camden resident, has lived with the sorry state of many of the city's streets for decades.
