Camden Artist Captures Thousands of Faces With Pencil and Paper

More than a thousand faces reside in the living room of Donald T. William's home on Magnolia Avenue in the Parkside neighborhood.

If William's vision goes as planned, thousands more – as many as 10,000 – someday will join him in his townhouse.

He has no concerns about it getting too crowded. The faces fill sketchbooks featuring Camden residents and others drawn by Williams over the last several years.

"Give me 10 minutes" is Williams' stock request when he finds a subject for his sketching, and also it is the name of his series. His book, with blank pages, always is with him, ready to add another face.

The long-time Camden artist and art teacher told TAPinto Camden that he cannot recall anyone ever saying no to his request. He even sketched 60 Minutes journalist Mike Wallace when they both were waiting at an airport.
